Course Syllabus

Abstract

The aim of the course is to familiarize the participating students with the advanced concepts and frameworks of purchasing and supply management (procurement), to familiarize with the role of logistics and supply chain management in the production enterprise, warehousing and inventory management, principles and tools of operational efficiency and to develop students’ related analytical and decision making skills related to industrial enterprise functionality.

  • • Topics such as role of supply chain management in an industrial enterprise, tools and principles of operational efficiency, procurement in competitiveness of companies, total cost of ownership, supplier relationship management, supply risk management, international sourcing, service procurement, sustainability in Supply Chains will be discussed during the lectures.

  • Demonstrate deep knowledge and critical understanding of theories, principles, concepts and methodologies of supply chain management of the manufacturing enterprise.
  • Understand the challenges of uncertain economic environment in order to discuss ongoing research while using various concepts from the materials offered in the course.
  • Plan and perform independent research projects in the area of supply chain management applying the advanced concepts of the strategic procurement management, lean principles and operational excellence.
