Course Syllabus
Abstract
The purpose of the course is to familiarize students with modern concepts and principles of functioning of a modern industrial enterprise with respect to strategic procurement and supply chain management and to develop students’ analytical and decision-making skills related to strategic procurement and supply chain management.Within the framework of the course the following topics will be offered to students: role of strategic procurement and supply chain management in an industrial enterprise, logistics integration and coordination, cross-finctional conflicts in logistics process.
Learning Objectives
- The purpose of the course is to familiarize students with modern concepts and principles of functioning of a modern industrial enterprise with respect to strategic procurement and supply chain management and to develop students’ analytical and decision-making skills related to strategic procurement and supply chain management. Expected Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate deep knowledge and critical understanding of theories, principles, concepts and methodologies of supply chain management of the manufacturing enterprise.
- Understand the challenges of uncertain economic environment in order to discuss ongoing research while using various concepts from the materials offered in the course.
- Plan and perform independent research projects in the area of supply chain management applying the advanced concepts of the strategic procurement management, lean principles and operational excellence.
- examine and critically appraise quantitative tools relevant in order to explore the strategic procurement management
