Course Syllabus

Abstract

Environmental Protection and Environmental Regulation as the Way to Population Well-Being This course provides concepts about technical methods and means of environmental protection and their close connection with environmental policy and environmental regulation. The course will cover approaches and methods of environmental protection from a legislative and technical points. Special attention will be paid to legislative methods aimed at saving biodiversity, ensuring habitat quality and population development both from the standpoint of international agreements and from the standpoint of local legislation of the separate countries. The connection of responsible environmental policy with sustainable development will be shown. After the course, students will understand the influence the state of the environment on population, the interconnections between environment protection and population development. What is more students will be able to apply their skills in solving basic management and engineering tasks related to the preventing the negative impact on the environment. They also will know how to eliminate the environmental impact consequences, how to use environmental protection equipment and technologies, how to make decisions in a difficult ecological and economic situation.
