Course Syllabus
Abstract
The discipline “French Indochina in the 19th – early 20th centuries” is a part of “Major” module for “South-East Studies” trajectory of the master’s program “Classical and Modern East: Languages, Cultures, Religions.” The course focuses on the colonial period in the history of Southeast Asia. Students will get acquainted with the political, economic, social, cultural processes that took place in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and adjacent regions during this period, and will gain an understanding of the impact these processes had on the historical fate of the countries in the region.
