Course Syllabus

Abstract

Planning is the process of deciding which action to take in order to achieve some goals. This course will study planning and decision making under the scope of Artificial Intelligence, that is, we will mostly focus on algorithms that calculate the actions to take by an agent. The course will cover a wide variety of planning problems, such as discrete planning, path planning, continuous planning, decision-making, planning under uncertainty, learning-based, etc. This diversity corresponds to the main objective of the course: provide a solid understanding to the student to successfully apply different planning techniques into a large variety of problems, including robotics, controls, manufacturing, drug design, computer graphics, and aerospace applications to name a few.
