Admissions news at HSE University

The Master's Programme 'Muslim Worlds in Russia (History and Culture)' trains specialists in the history and culture of the Muslim peoples of Russia, as well as their relations with the state and other peoples at home and abroad. Admissions are open until July 25, 2024. Below, Olga Bessmertnaya, Academic Supervisor of the programme, speaks about the admission process, the courses, and the career prospects for the programme graduates.

In early July, the HSE Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs (WEIA) on Malaya Ordynka hosted the annual Open Air Festival of its bachelor's programmes. In a relaxed atmosphere of the inner courtyard, guests interacted with WEIA administrators, faculty members, students, and graduates. Chinese characters and ice cream, origami and photo sessions, Portuguese desserts and Korean souvenirs, Turkish sweets, and African stickers were just a fraction of what guests could taste, enjoy, or win in quizzes testing their knowledge of the world.

They have submitted all required documents for both full and partial scholarships, ranging from 25% to 70%. The submission of application portfolios, tests, and review of portfolios for international applicants will be open until August 11, 2024.

726 participants received certificates of achievement (winners’ diplomas), and more than 200 have already become HSE students. This event is one of the largest and most recognised projects of HSE University, which allows participants to gain university admission with a full or partial scholarship. Registration for the competition in Russian is already underway. Soon, registration for the HSE International Olympiad in English (INTO HSE) will kick off.

HSE University-St Petersburg hosted the Indian Students Week. The event gathered more than 50 students from India. The students represented 15 top universities in the country. In particular, there were representatives of IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, UPES, IIM Amritsar and others. The goal of this large-scale initiative of HSE University-St Petersburg is to introduce talented students from India to educational opportunities in Russia, in particular, HSE educational programmes in four directions: business and economics, design, social and computer sciences.

Sergio Terrón, 27, from Alicante, Spain, is a first-year student of the Master's programme in Socioeconomic and Political Development of Modern Asia at the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs of HSE University in Moscow. His main research interest is bilateral relations between China and Spain. What do students need to succeed in their studies at HSE? What does Moscow have to offer to international students? HSE University has welcomed students of the International House Tashkent Academic Lyceum at TIIAME National Research University, Uzbekistan. The students are participants in the educational project 'Lyceum Classes with Support from HSE,' initiated by the International Admissions Office and implemented since 2022 in collaboration with faculties of HSE University and foreign educational institutions.

Foreign students from HSE University recently took part in the project of the School of Entrepreneurship for international students ‘Start your business with Moscow!’. Wang Yue, 31, first-year student of the HSE GSB Master's programme in International Management from China, became one of the most active participants in the project.
