XVIII April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development
On April 11-14, 2017 in Moscow, the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) with the support of the World Bank organizes the XVIII April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development. The Conference Programme Committee is chaired by Professor Evgeny Yasin.
The plenary sessions and special round tables will be devoted to the most important topics of social and economic development of the country.
On the conference website applicants can get acquainted with the main scientific issues of the Conference. Authors should not restrict themselves to these issues only, although the Programme Committee will give priority to the papers relevant to those main issues. The paper should present the results of original research carried out with modern research methodology. Papers can usually be summarized in 15-20 MS PowerPoint presentation slides and presented within 15-20 min. The average presentation at a round table lasts from 5 to 7 min. Conference programme of the sessions and round tables will be formed on the basis of applications.
Working languages of the Conference are Russian and English. Simultaneous translation will be available during all plenary and some session meetings.
Participants are invited to submit extended abstracts of their research papers for presentation at the Conference sessions. Submissions will be accepted from September 11, 2016 till November 13, 2016, only online. After the registration, each participant will be provided with a user profile to interact directly with the Organizing Committee.
This abstract must be attached to the application form, in MS Word or RTF formats, in 1-3 pages with 1.5 line spacing (up to 7000 symbols). The abstract should clearly state the problem of the paper, the approach to its solution (in particular, if there is a model based on the analysis), and the main findings. It should indicate the novelty of the results in comparison with the known, previously published works. Abstracts which are less than 1 page will not be accepted.
The group of applicants who register online may inform the Conference Programme Committee before November 13, 2016 of their wish to submit their papers to form one session. In this case participants should send a letter to interconf@hse.ru that contains information about the title of proposed session; speakers (no more than 3 - 4, already registered as individual applicants) and the research topic, as well as the name and the contact information (phone and e-mail address) of the supposed chairperson of the session. One applicant may submit one individual paper and not more than two co-authored papers. For one session there can be no more than two papers submitted from the same organization. Duration of one session is 1.5 hours. Proposals for such sessions can be taken into consideration by the Programme Committee during the review of papers and the formation of the Conference programme.
The Programme Committee will announce the decision on the inclusion of papers in the Conference programme by January 25, 2017, based on the results of the review made by independent experts. After the review, a preliminary programme will be available on the conference website. Participants whose papers are included in the programme have to confirm their participation through their user profile until February 13, 2017. Without such confirmation the paper will be excluded from the programme.
Authors of the papers included in the Conference programme will be requested to send full-text versions of the paper (in MS Word, RTF or PDF file) by March 13, 2017 for publication on the Conference website.
Participants from the CIS and Eastern Europe countries whose papers are included in the programme may apply for a grant from the Moscow Office of the World Bank to compensate travel or accommodation expenses. All applications should be sent at interconf@hse.ru until February 13, 2017.
The series of workshops will be organized for doctoral students and post-graduate students (with the possibility of travel grants for selected speakers). All information about participation in these workshops will be available on the conference website.
Online registration for participation without presenting a paper will be available from November 14, 2016 until March 18, 2017 on the conference website.
Information about the conference fee is available on the official website.
