Record Number of Students Attend MBA Programme at HSE Banking Institute
The 21st cohort of the MBA Programme in Investment Management has started training at the HSE Banking Institute. The number of students this year was about 40 people. Students will gain knowledge and experience from practicing teachers, practice-oriented seminars, analyses of real cases, and joint projects with the country's leading banks and companies.
The history of the MBA Investment Management programme spans twenty years. It became the first programme of its kind in Eastern Europe to achieve CFA Institute partner status, a widely recognised global quality standard for financial education, and then successfully passed the CFA audit several times.
The programme’s content is a mix of management disciplines and financial education; it is updated annually, taking into account surveys of leading domestic and foreign employers. This ensures that the programme remains relevant, and that its graduates are in demand in both the domestic and international labour markets.
Vasily Solodkov
‘The MBA Programme in Investment Management is unique, first of all because it complies with internationally recognised CFA standards—this ensures the relevance of the acquired knowledge anywhere in the world,’ says Vasily Solodkov, Head of the Programme and Director of the HSE Banking Institute.
Another important factor in the programme’s success is that its teachers are practitioners from the largest organisations in Russia, including the Bank of Russia, Sberbank, VTB, Otkritie Bank, Gazprombank, and others. These experts share their experience with students in each lesson and analyse numerous practical cases.
‘Thanks to the knowledge they gain, many of our students receive promotions during their studies, which once again confirms the quality of the education received in the programme. Every year, we bring together high-quality professionals, which we are very proud of,’ emphasises Vasily Solodkov.
The hybrid offline and online learning format and flexible class schedule make the programme suitable for all kinds of specialists, as demonstrated by the student population in 2023. This year, 37 people have enrolled in the MBA Investment Management Programme. The average age of students is 35. Among them are department supervisors in financial sector organisations, specialists from companies in other industries, individual entrepreneurs and private investors. Some of the students are specialists in jurisprudence, trade analytics, and IT.
Enrolment in the programme takes place annually: the next cohort will begin training in October 2024. The programme is taught in Russian. More information about the programme can be found on the website (in Russian).
