On September 20, HSE University Rector Yaroslav Kuzminov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic Pasquale Terracciano signed a cooperation agreement between the Embassy of Italy and HSE University.
The Effect of Digitalization on School Children Calculated for the First Time
The HSE Institute of Education together with Yandex completed Russia’s first large-scale experiment assessing the impact of online technology on primary school students’ performance in school. The researchers concluded that online completion of assignments help improve mathematical literacy, particularly among underachieving students.
HSE Enters Top-250 of Graduate Employability Rankings
HSE University was able to place high on the Graduate Employability Ranking (201-250), outpacing its main competitors for the first time in five years. This year, the number of candidates to the ranking was increased 15% (758 universities), with new 36 universities joining the list.

THE WUR, Times Higher Education World University Rankings, has compiled its 2019 global rankings. HSE University performed positively, moving up to the 251-300 cohort, and taking third place among Russian universities following MSU and MIPT.

HSE University has firmly entered the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), which is known for its rigorous selection criteria. After placing in the ranking for the first time last year, HSE University maintained its position despite increased competition — more than 50 new universities entered the ranking for the first time this year.
Project Highlights from HSE’s Master’s Programme in Fashion
Over the past year our students and graduates of the Master’s Programme ‘Fashion’ participated in a diverse array of projects. The emerging designers put on two of their own fashion shows at Rizhsky Station as part of Arts Night 2018 as well as the large festival Telling Stories, participated in exhibitions, collaborated with prominent brand names, and opened a joint showroom in the Klebozavod (Bread Factory) space.
