Aleksey Kychkin

Aleksey Kychkin, a researcher at the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Empirical Studies (LINES), and Oleg Gorshkov, a research assistant at LINES, received a patent for a system that predicts the spatial distribution of harmful substances in atmospheric air using an artificial intelligence unit. The invention can be used for integrated planning and notification of the risks of atmospheric air pollution by harmful substances. The work was carried out under a grant from the HSE University Artificial Intelligence Centre. The HSE News Service spoke with Aleksey Kychkin about the benefits of the new system, its application, and how it came to life.

Aleksey Kychkin, Head of the Laboratory of Interdisciplinary Empirical Studies, spoke to the HSE Look about his background, industry projects the lab has been doing, and student involvement in research.

Galina E. Volodina has been the Campus Director in Perm since 1997. Aleksey Kychkin, Associate Professor in the Department of Information Technologies in Business at HSE University in Perm, together with Georgios Chasparis, a scientist at the Software Competence Center Hagenberg (SCCH, Austria), built models to predict energy consumption in residential buildings for the day ahead. The electricity consumption profile of a group of residential buildings, which is determined for the day ahead, will allow electricity demand to be effectively managed. The results of the research were published in ‘Energy and Buildings’journal.

The HSE University-Perm held a seminar titled ‘Object-Oriented Modeling in OpenModelica for Cyber-Physical System Applications’. Professor Stefan Vöth, Dr.-Ing., from Technische Hochschule Georg Agricola (Bochum, Germany) spoke at the III Perm Digital Forum and also delivered lectures and workshops on methods of creating digital models for different technical systems.

From July 15^th to 17^th 2019, Aleksey Kychkin, Associate Professor of the HSE-Perm’s Department of Information Technologies in Business, and Elvira Neganova, Master’s student of Information Analytics in Enterprise Management, took part in the 21st IEEE Conference on Business Informatics (CBI).

HSE-Perm’s School of Economics and Finance has held a refresher training course, ‘Time Series in R’, led by Professor Dean Fantazzini of Moscow State University (MSU). Professor Fantazzini is the Deputy Head of MSU’s Moscow School of Economics and the programme Chair of Econometrics and Mathematical Methods in Economics.

Aleksey Kychkin, Associate Professor of the Department of IT in Business at HSE-Perm, and head of the Cyber Physical Systems Research Group, attended the HANNOVER MESSE international exhibition, which was held on April 1-5, 2019 in Hannover, Germany.

Between October 23rd and 25th, 2018, the 20th WETEX 2018 exhibition took place in Dubai, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. This event was attended by Aleksey Kychkin, Associate Professor of HSE-Perm’s Department of IT in Business, and head of the Cyber Physical Systems research group.
