On February, 25, during class "Gender and Development", Valentina Frolova, lawyer of the Union of Women's NGOs, gave a guest lecture in the format of a round table. Students of "Population and Development", "Comparative Social Research programmes as well as international students and professors - Olga Isupova and Valeria Utkina attended the event.

Helsinki: gender and technologies
How are international conferences held? How to get to them, how succeed and what difficulties you may face with? The participants of the Research and study group “Comparative Study of the Situation of Women and Men in Public Authorities” experienced it visiting two scientific conferences at Helsinki.
Students of the programme in the State Duma of the Russian Federation
Students visited the plenary session of State Duma as part of the course “Theory and Practice of Public Administration”. Two study tours to the Lower House of the Federal Assembly of Russia were organized for the “Population and Development” master’s students. Consolidating received knowledge and an understanding of the applied competences of a public servant in Russia were the main objectives of these educational tours.
Round table 'Violence in modern society and the fight against it' for the HSE master's students with the experts from "Nasiliu.net" ("Stop.Violence") and Consortium of Women’s NGO
On May 22, students of the Master's Program 'Population and Development' and and 'Comparative Social Research' took part in the round table 'Violence in the modern society and the fight against it' within the course 'Gender and Development'. Guest experts took part in the round table: founder and the director of the NGO 'Center for dealing with the problem of violence "Nasiliu.net" ("Stop.Violence")' and a lawyer from Consortium of Women’s NGOs Valentina Frolova.
Gender and Governance International Conference at the University of Helsinki
On March 28-29th, the Gender and Governance International Conference, jointly organized by the Aleksanteri Institute (University of Helsinki) and the Research group 'Comparative Study of the Situation of Women and Men in Public Authorities' from the Faculty of Social Sciences of Higher School of Economics (Moscow), was held in Helsinki. Members and Heads of the HSE study group and researchers and professors from the University of Helsinki presented their reports at the event.

Student Winners to Research Cheating in Online Courses
HSE has announced the winners of the Academicus Modus competition of student projects. They will receive a year-long grant for their research, the results of which will be published in an academic journal.
Student Research Club Founded at HSE
ΧΣΕ– ChiSigmaEpsilon – is the name of a new association for students who love science and who want to better understand the academic side of university life. This Research Club will help them develop their skills in research, teaching, and consulting, as well as supporting their participation in applied projects.

Conference in Budapest
On October 15-16, an international conference ‘Public Service Innovation and the Delivery of Effective Public Services’ was held in Budapest. The event was organized by the National University of Public Service (Hungary) and the University of Edinburgh (Great Britain). S. Osborne and R. Carmen, two scholars renowned for their innovations in public administration, also took part in the event.
