The MIEM Centre for Fractal Art presented a ‘Fractal architecture’ project by Nadezhda Trubochkina, and she was awarded the diploma of the Moscow Architecture Biennale for presenting new opportunities for using fractal mathematics and IT technologies for architects and interior designers.

At an Academic Council meeting on February 26, four HSE staff members were given awards for their outstanding achievements and contributions to their departments and to the university as a whole.

The 24^th HSE Open Tourist Rally has taken place in the Moscow region. It attracted students from different university campuses, as well as graduates with families, doctoral students, lecturers, and HSE friends from other Moscow universities.

Igor Gurovitch, Curator and Senior Lecturer at the School of Design, designer, poster artist, and founder of Ostengruppe, took part in the AGI Open international conference.

On September 23, the new season of Professors' Wednesdays concerts will open in the newly renovated Professors' Club at HSE. The first to perform before audiences will be Elena Revich (violin) and Sergei Kuznetsov (piano). However, this year's programme will not stop with music.

She had never played Ultimate Frisbee before coming to Russia. And she didn’t expect to. Manon Coyne just needed to do some sports because she did a lot in France and she didn’t find a better opportunity here in Moscow. Manon Coyne came from Marseille to study Management and Economics at HSE as an exchange student.

The HSE Open Tourist Rally brought together about 300 students, graduates and staff of the university.

Kerri Matulis is majoring in Psychology and Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. She is spending a semester at the Faculty of Economics of HSE. If students use any of the gym space in the HSE dormitories, they have probably seen some of these items present. While these fitness materials aid students in their quest either to get into shape or to maintain some level of physical fitness, Kerri wants to suggest that there is definitely another option, which can add to both your fitness and sight-seeing routine: running.

HSE Buddies Network is making sure foreign students get plenty of cultural experience while in Russia. This spring they organised a trip to Kazan and introduced foreign students to Russian Orthodox Easter traditions.

As part of a review, second year fashion students (curated by Maria Smirnova) prepared projects on the unifying theme of recycling. The results of their work are on display in an exhibition at the HSE School of Design until 27th March.

HSE tourist club invites international students, lecturers and researchers to participate in a trekking trip to Russian South (Western Caucasus, near Sochi). The trip will last 12 days, from April 30 to May 12.

From January 30 to February 1, 2015, the 8^th Contemporary Dance Festival ‘Power of Silence’ took place in St. Petersburg. Fifty-three dancers and dance teams from all over Russian participated in the contest. Three prizes were awarded in the ‘Solo and Duets’ nomination: for the best choreography, the best female dancer, and the best male dancer. Sona Hovsepyan was named as best choreographer, and Diana Mukhamedshina, member of the Dance Company, won the prize for best female performer.
