On 25th April 2015, the HSE students’ project Agents of Health Against Stroke took first place at a pitching session for non-commercial organisations at the Fifth Lime International Festival of Social Advertising in Moscow.

At the media competition Front Page in Nizhny Novgorod at the end of April, the student newspaper 'Vyshka' and the website 'The Vyshka' representing the Moscow HSE campus, took first place in three categories.

On the 8th April the Department of Integrated Communications held a Brown Bag Seminar - an informal meeting for 2nd and 3rd year students (specialising in advertising and PR) with representatives of partner companies offering work experience and production training.

Irina Antoshchenkova and Alina Miller are students in the HSE Master’s programme in Applied Economics and Mathematical Methods. From October 2014 to January 2015, they studied as exchange students at Aix-Marseille School of Economics (AMSE). AMSE recently published an interview with the Russian guests.

Students from the Faculty of Social Sciences and international Master’s students at HSE Moscow are launching Read Square — a new online magazine in English. Read Square will be updated every three weeks and will offer international insight and opinion on Higher School of Economics news, science and future perspectives in a global world.

Perm hosted the Russian Championship for formation dance, a special type of team competition in which several pairs of dancers synchronously perform a number that typically consists of a series of Latin American dances. The Duet Ensemble, which is made up of three female students from HSE Perm, was the winner.

Nathan Marcus, Associate Professor in the Department of History at the St. Petersburg School of Social Sciences and Humanities, is currently teaching an undergraduate course in economic and financial history, and will offer a graduate-level course next year as part of the Applied and Interdisciplinary History master’s programme. The programme is almost ready to open, and will accept its first students in 2015.

On the 11th March London University held its graduation ceremony for the International Programmes. Several of the best graduates of the International Centre for Economics and Finance 2014 were at the ceremony - Elizaveta Elizarova, Anastasia Terentieva, Arina Chokati, Evgeny Mityukov, Vasily Kosov, Kiryll Chudnovets.

Anna Khoklova, 2d year student on the Master’s programme Electronic Business (Faculty of Business Informatics), spent two modules of her final year at SeoulTech in the Faculty of IT Management. She shares her experiences with HSE students.

As part of a review, second year fashion students (curated by Maria Smirnova) prepared projects on the unifying theme of recycling. The results of their work are on display in an exhibition at the HSE School of Design until 27th March.

Tutor Outreach is a new volunteer initiative developed by School of Philology students under the HSE’s ICEF Outreach organization. The initiative aims to help people in children’s homes with their studies. All the volunteers work as tutors, preparing the children for exams, helping them with their homework, answering difficult questions and helping them catch up with the curriculum.
