Developing cooperation in engineering sciences was the key topic during the latest visit of a delegation from Nanjing University to HSE University. This time, the guests were hosted by the HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM).

On April 12th, the traditional Big Space Break took place at the HSE MIEM. This interactive event for students and staff was organized by specialists from the Laboratory of Space Vehicles and Systems' Functional Safety.

In February, a two-day poster session - the second checkpoint of the project life cycle - was held at the HSE MIEM. The participants prepared colorful posters, talked with experts and MIEM students and received well-deserved plaudits. Here, the HSE News Service looks at some student projects.

An official HSE University delegation representing all four campuses visited Uzbekistan from October 3–6. HSE managers, teachers and researchers met with their peers from partner universities and government agencies to outline new areas of cooperation, discuss joint projects, programmes, and activities for students, and hold lectures and master classes. The participants shared their impressions of the trip with HSE News Service.

Sergey A. Aksenov,Deputy Director of MIEM and Associate Professor at the School of Applied Mathematics, explains what mathematical modelling is about and what projects HSE MIEM research teams have been working on recently, particularly in relation to COVID-19.

On December 1, key areas of HSE University’s recently adopted strategy were presented at the extended meeting of the International Advisory Committee. Outgoing and new members of IAC learnt more about the University’s initiatives in human capital and AI research, as well as about its plans to build a Master’s Engineering School.

By the end of the first stage of the Project's work plan implementation, its participants moved from fundamental methodological principles to the applied task of checking and calibrating selected approaches in methodology. These steps can be done only in case of relying on practical development and use of computer simulations. Tat is why some examples of computer simulations use for solving applied problems in the field of material processing by pressure were considered at the seminar. The main speaker was the lead researcher of the Project - Sergei Alekseevich Aksenov.

There will be a small scientific and technological revolution! We have brought together the main team members to take on an ambitious scientific and educational vision, which we will implement in the near future. On March 31 - April 5, the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) in Recife, Brazil, organized a BRIC-UFPE Scientific Workshop to discuss the recent scientific trends and projects, to strengthen cooperation between four BRIC countries, and promote collaboration.
