HSE University has held its first online meetup for those planning to apply for a master's degree. University experts discussed how a master's degree can change people's lives and careers, what the development trajectories of graduates and young professionals might be, and why lifelong learning is becoming increasingly popular. In addition, representatives of the University Admissions Committee spoke about admission to HSE University in 2022.

HSE University academics held a discussion with Maxim Oreshkin, presidential aide and graduate of the HSE University, as part of theXXIII Yasin (April) International Academic Conference. They talked about the current socioeconomic situation and the future of Russia's development. The discussion was moderated by HSE Academic SupervisorYaroslav Kuzminov.

HSE Day is an annual event that never fails to surprise guests with something new. Below is a list of six new themed events to be featured at this year’s festival in Gorky Park on September 13.

The Moscow Urban Forum will take place from July 17 to 22 at Zaryadye Park. This year’s topic is ‘Megacity of the Future: New Space for Living’. HSE representatives will participate in the forum’s expert discussions.

Mikhail Blinkin is one of Russia’s leading experts in urbanism, city planning, and urban transport. He has headed the HSE Institute for Transport Economics and Transport Policy Studies since 2011 and has been HSE Tenured Professor since 2013. In 2017, Mikhail Blinkin was the recipient of an HSE Honour Award 1^st Class, as well as the Golden HSE award for Best Expert.

On November 27, the HSE Academic Council held an awards ceremony dedicated to the university’s 25th anniversary. The meeting saw the participation of representatives of the Russian President, members of government, and members of the Russian Federal Assembly. Governmental awards were given to a number of HSE employees for their tremendous accomplishments.

Staff and students of HSE Vysokovsky Graduate School of Urbanism discussed the prospects for the development of Urban Studies at HSE and in Russia at a meeting with the university’s senior management.

On October 14, 2015 the New Cities Foundation will host ‘Cities on the Move’, a one-day event exploring the multifaceted nature of urban mobility and its impact on the cities.  Mikhail Blinkin, Director of the Institute for Transport Economics and Transport Policy Studies, is invited to participate in the event as one of the 150 leading experts in urban studies in the world according to the Urban Mobility ranking.

It’s become fashionable to take an interest in science and research, and there are lots of researchers and academics at HSE who do in addition to carrying out research are gifted enough to be able to explain it in an engaging way to other people. You can meet them and learn about the latest research breakthroughs at the NAUKA 0+ festival, which gets underway in Moscow on October 9. Here’s an outline of what HSE offers as part of NAUKA 0+.

Alexey Novikov has been Dean of the Graduate School of Urban Studies and Planning at HSE since January this year. The new makeup of the Expert Council to the Russian government has been confirmed. It includes 366 members, 23 of whom are HSE staff.

The list of members of the Expert Council under the RF Government has been approved. Its 200 members include staff from the Higher School of Economics.

The Russian President, Dmitry Medvedev, has awarded honours to some researchers from the Higher School of Economics for their work on the Strategy 2020 expert groups, including organization of the groups, the preparation of suggestions on topical issues for Russian socio-economic strategy up to 2020 and their personal input into the expert and analytical work
