    In short

Danil Fedorovykh (Данил Фёдоровых) is a Deputy Vice Rector of HSE University. His research interests include game theory, industrial organisation, and economics of informal markets. During his work in HSE, Danil won an “HSE Best Teacher” award seven times.

Danil puts substantial efforts towards stimulating interest in economics among high schoolers and undergraduates. He is a co-founder of ILoveEconomics.ru, a website for Russian students who just started to learn economics, and is also a member of organising committees of many contests in economic problem-solving (Olympiads) and summer schools (including Summer Economic School “I Love Economics”) for high school students. In 2014, Danil received New Economic School Alumni and Friends award for the promotion of economics among young generations.

At HSE, Danil is a promoter of LaTeX – a professional desktop publishing system for scholars. The course on LaTeX that he has taught for several years helped hundreds of students, researchers, and lecturers to learn how to make publications and presentation slides in a highly professional manner. In 2014, “Introduction to LaTeX” became one of the first Russian-language courses at Coursera.org and for a long time has been the only massive open online course (MOOC) in LaTeX in the world.

While working in HSE, Danil has participated in academic and professional conferences, served as a guest lecturer, organised olympiads and summer schools in dozens of countries all over the world.

Since 2018, Danil is the President of the Executive Board of International Economics Olympiad (IEO).
