XXXIII International Scientific and Practical Conference “MEDIA LAW – 2024”

Let us invite you to take part in the main annual event in the field of Media Law - the XXXIII International Scientific and Practical Conference “MEDIA LAW – 2024” (Moscow, December 12-13, 2024).

The organizers of the conference are the International Scientific and Educational Center “UNESCO Chair in Copyright, Neighbouring, Cultural and Information Rights”, the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Creative Industries of the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE University). 

The annual conferences dedicated to the anniversary of the adoption of the Law of Russian Federation dated December 27, 1991 “On Mass Media” have long become traditional. The authors of this law invariably take part in them – the Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Law, Professor Yu. M. Baturin, Doctor of Law, Professor M. A. Fedotov, Ph.D. V. L. Entin - prominent Russian and foreign jurists, theorists and practitioners of mass communications, public figures, as well as legal practitioners, students, graduate students, university teachers, etc. 

Like all previous years, the conference participants will summarize the development of domestic and foreign media legislation and the practice of its application in 2024, will exchange views on trends and prospects for the development of Media Law in the modern world. 

The first day of the conference will be held in a face-to-face format with the ability to connect online for out-of-town and foreign participants, as well as a live broadcast via internet, the second day will be held online. 

Pre-registration is required; participation is for free; working languages: Russian and English. 

The UNESCO Chair at HSE University accepts applications for participation in the conference as a listener until 12/06/2024. Acceptance of the applications for participation in the conference as a speaker ends on 11/29/2022. 

The conference program is formed on the basis of the received applications, which are considered by the organizers taking into account the content of the abstracts of the reports. The abstracts should be sent to tis@hse.ru.

If necessary, nonresident and foreign speakers whose presentations will be included in the conference program can receive personal invitations to arrange a business trip. After the conference, the speakers will be able to receive the appropriate certificates (Certificate of Attendance). 

Reports of conference participants that meet the requirements of the Higher Attestation Commission for the content and design of scientific articles can be published in the quarterly journal “Works on Intellectual Property”, issued by the HSE Publishing House. The journal is included in the List of peer-reviewed scientific publications of the Higher Attestation Commission.
