Abstract

The course is aimed at learning of the role of intermodal transportation in modern logistics and supply chains and the principles of intermodal transportation management. The course provides additional knowledge on modern transport systems and encourages the improvement of professional discussion in English skills

  • Getting the fundamental knowledge on modern intermodal transportation necessary for successful business in logistics and supply chains management

  • Knowledge of factors that had determined the creation and development of the Intermodal concept
  • Knowledge of of principal ideas of intermodal transportation and the basic models of intermodal transport services
  • Knowledge of global container system components and its role in contemporary economy. Knowledge of main container types and container technologies
  • Knowledge of intermodal corridors and terminals' parameters, description of their functions in the transport system and supply chains
  • Understanding of transport modes' advantages important for intermodal transportation. Knowledge of modes' interoperation principles. Understanding of ecologic priorities and their influence over intermodal transport development
