Course Syllabus
Abstract
Students will learn how to apply design thinking methodology to create and redesign products and services. They will develop the skills to conduct empathic research, analyze the received data to determine the needs of the audience, generate ideas, create and test prototypes, and present project proposals.
Learning Objectives
- To acquire new competencies for professional activities in developing new products and improving existing products, processes, and services in an organization

Assessment Elements
- Homework 1Homework is done in groups after going over the topic "Personas and the Customer journey map". Students need to conduct a couple of interviews with users to gather information. Based on the information received, students prepare a persona and a customer journey map.
- Homework 2The student must individually prepare a plan for a facilitation session (5 P of preparation: purpose, product, participants, probable issues, process).
- Knowledge Test 1Design Thinking Test. The test contains 15 questions on the topics: history of methodology, empathy stage, define stage, idea generation stage.
- Final testA test on all the topics of the course. The test contains 20 questions.
- Knowledge Test 2A test on TRIZ. The test contains 15 questions.
- Final workStudents in teams must prepare a group project on one of the suggested topics using techniques that have been learned in the discipline. The results of the work should be presented in the form of a presentation. The presentation should contain the following thematic blocks: problem definition, generation of ideas, solution concept.
