Course Syllabus
Abstract
The seminar aims to provide individual counselling and support for the educational trajectories of students in order to design and follow their individual curricula. It will provide organizational space and individual support for the formulation of key learning outcomes in line with the focus of the pathway and individual learning outcomes to better reflect the career-related needs of each student. The mentor will guide students in the selection of courses and help them to identify potential research topics and suitable supervisors for the MA thesis. The seminar aims to develop students' skills in self-organisation of academic work and to develop their academic writing and presentation skills. The seminar also aims to develop the ability to work with relevant materials and to become familiar with the basic rules of academic ethics in order to organize and manage an individual research project.
Learning Objectives
- To assist students in the design and implementation of their individual learning trajectory.
Expected Learning Outcomes
- an identification of the range of career trajectories
- selection and coordination of the elements of the individual curriculum, corresponding to the individual educational results
- an identification of research interest and selection of research topic for the term paper
- identification of steps necessary to achieve key learning outcomes
- identification of suitable topics for individual research work, formulation of research goals and tasks, preparation of an appropriate research plan

Assessment Elements
- Interim report 1Each student prepares a list of individual learning outcomes to be achieved as a result of the studies within the given trajectory, in consultation with the mentor. The purpose of these progress reports is to: 1) help you focus on the goals of your project and your progress toward those goals; 2) provide a basis for discussion with your mentor; 3) help provide a framework for the final paper. We encourage you to use the reports as a tool to practice and strengthen your technical writing skills.

- PresentationEach student will report to the mentor (a public presentation) - on their interim achievements in the trajectory.
- Research theme identificationAn identification of research interest and individual research objectives for MA thesis.
- MA thesis draft (1)Each student submits to the mentor a draft of her MA thesis with a focus on the research question, its relevance, methodology, and research design.
- MA thesis draft (2)A draft of the MA thesis prepared for the pre-defense is sent by each student to the mentor.
