Course Syllabus

Abstract

Personal effectiveness and essential soft skills is a course for ICEF bachelor’s and master’s students. It develops both theoretical and practical frameworks to comprehensive understanding of life and career management. After the course completion you will have enough time for doing what you love; you will learn how to progress faster either at work or at university.

  • To enhance and develop structuring skills for both interpersonal and written communications
  • To help students plan their time in the long-term and short-term, including daily timemanagement
  • To lay the foundation for the soft skills allowing to build a successful plan of career development and personal life enhancement
  • To learn the main principles of teamwork
  • To help students escape from embarrassing situations at the future work and at the university
  • To explain students how to make themselves distinctive and elite candidates for the potential employer
  • To explain the students how to “sell the ideas” (based on start-up pitching experience)

  • to analyze how different industries work; how to structure any problem, MECE principle
  • to be able to pitch any idea and project

  • 2023/2024 2nd module
    The final grade is composed of the following parts: attendance coefficient and assignments grade. Grade is calculated by multiplying attendance coefficient by assignments grade: • Attendance coefficient: attendance rate is 100% divided by 7 (students can miss 1 lecture per course without penalties) • Assignments grade: 5 assignments of 50 points each and 1 assignment of 70 A total of 320 points is grade 10. 70 is grade 2. Grade 4 is a pass (132 points)
