Course Syllabus
Abstract
This academic course offers a comprehensive overview of cultural anthropology and diversity, with a keen focus on the study of intercultural communication in the current globalized context.The scope of the course encompasses a broad range of topics such as models and constituents of intercultural communication, the interplay between national identity, globalization, and national politics, as well as the opportunities and challenges brought about by the heterogeneity of polycultures. Additional topics covered include patterns of migration, adaptation strategies, the role of language and non-verbal cues in culture, and the influence of cultural norms in various sectors like business, education, and the arts.Practical sessions are integrated into the course structure with the objective of fostering an appreciation of cultural diversity and to cultivate behavioral competence in the sphere of intercultural interaction. These sessions will draw upon real-world scenarios to elucidate fundamental principles of intercultural communication.The aim of this course is to build intercultural proficiency in an array of professional arenas while concurrently promoting an understanding of current events that underscore the necessity for cultural diversity appreciation, empathy development, intercultural sensitivity, and the enhancement of intercultural communication skills.
