Course Syllabus

Abstract

Research seminar is an active form of learning to obtain professional skills. It is arranged on a regular basis and focuses on introduction to principles and methods of an academic study in the field of arts and culture management

Learning Objectives

  • This course aims to introduce students to the development of an academic paper. It focuses on the research process, from choosing a research topic and defining research motivation, developing a research question, a literature review and a theoretical framework, working on research design and presentation of the results
Expected Learning Outcomes

Expected Learning Outcomes

  • Be able to conduct scientific research
  • be able to critically and argumentatively analyze scientific research
  • be able to present the results of their research, answer the questions of reviewers and argue the proposed ideas
  • Know and be able to build a research design
  • to be able to define research niche and select relevant literature
  • to know how to choose appropriate research methods
  • to know how to pose a research question
  • to efficiently use electronic citation databases to apply the guidelines of development of a research paper to writing a term paper
  • - to identify major research gaps in the field of creative industries - to critically evaluate research papers
  • - to develop an extended research proposal based on the guidelines for a research paper development - to advance the research paper presentation skilss - to critically evaluate research projects

    The students are expected to analytically read and discuss research papers that have high relevance to their term papers
