Course Syllabus
Abstract
The discipline tells about the mechanisms for regulating responsibility for committing unlawful acts during sports events, based on the norms of sports law, the criminal law of the Russian Federation, as well as the law enforcement practice of other states.
Learning Objectives
- The objective of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted issues surrounding permissible violence in sports. By examining historical, ethical, legal, psychological, and sociological aspects, students will be equipped to critically assess current practices and contribute to discussions on future policies.
Expected Learning Outcomes
- Students will critically analyze the evolution and history of violence in sports, understanding its cultural and societal implications.
- Students will assess ethical issues and engage in informed debates on the permissibility of different levels of violence in sports.
- Students will gain an understanding of the legal frameworks and governance issues related to managing violence in sports.
- Students will evaluate the psychological and sociological impacts of sports violence, developing an awareness of its effects on various stakeholders.
