Course Syllabus

Abstract

*The course examines microeconomic concepts and theories, as well as the knowledge based on them about the results of modern scientific developments and current business practices. Particular attention is paid to the consideration of aspects of management activities that link microeconomic processes with the ethics of doing business, its social responsibility, sustainable development issues and international aspects of entrepreneurship. Examples of Russian and foreign companies in the conduct of international business are considered, which allows students to form an understanding of the features of economic decision-making in the modern international environment. The practical orientation of the Microeconomics course involves the formation of skills and abilities that are relevant in the future professional activities of managers and entrepreneurs in international markets. In particular, the ability to make management decisions for economic entities based on the analysis of the ratio of their benefits and costs, the marginal approach and other modern microeconomic concepts. The most important skill, formed as a result of the systematic study of the Microeconomics course, is the search and evaluation of new market opportunities and the creation of a business idea. Forms of control include written work, case solving, group project work (independent research by students of market structures in their chosen industry and aimed at developing managerial decision-making skills) and an exam.
