Course Syllabus

Abstract

The course bridges theoretical macroeconomics to practice. It teaches to compile a consistent set of macro accounts, identify key imbalances, and develop a reform program to correct them. Through hands-on exercised and cased studies, students will learn to analyze and forecast key macroaggregates of any country, and design fiscal, monetary, financial, exchange rate, trade, and other policies to improve its outcomes. The course will be particularly useful for graduate students seeking employment in the public sector (central banks, ministries of finance/economy, development agencies) and the private sector (investment banks, insurance, and consultancies), as well as international organizations (IMF, World Bank, WTO), academia (universities, think tanks, institutes), and other areas (media portals, rating agencies).
