Course Syllabus
Abstract
The course is aimed at exploring the following specific issues: linguocultures through the lens of value systems; linguosemiotic modelling of values; axiological components of linguocultural concepts; types of axiogenic situations: communicative contexts and linguistic representations; value orientations as roadmaps of communicative behavior
Learning Objectives
- 1. building up students’ theoretical and practical knowledge within the domain of axiological linguistics with a focus on value-based linguasemiotics and linguacultural studies; 2. developing students’ competences as the ability and preparedness to apply knowledge, skills, and experience within the domain of axiological linguistics in professional activities

- Students can distinguish values as basic elements of cultures.
- Students can trace and analyze the evolution and modification of values.
- Students can analyze and interpret linguacultures through the lens of value systems.
- Students can conceptualize the phenomenon of “linguistic personality”.
