Course Syllabus
Abstract
During the course “Islamic Political Culture” students will gain an understanding of the formation and theoretical background of political culture in the Muslim world, its sources, as well as classical and modern interpretations. The basic political concepts in Islam, the influence of Islamic religious doctrine on the political process in the Muslim world will be touched upon. Special attention is paid to considering the problems of political participation of Muslims in both Muslim and non-Muslim countries.
