Every year, 20 American and 20 Russian students come together to participate in the Stanford Russian-American Forum, which begins with an autumn conference in Moscow, continues with six months of joint work on research projects, and finishes with a spring conference at Stanford University. Kirill Kopytov, a first-year Master’s student at the International College of Economics and Finance (ICEF), spoke with us about his participation in the forum.

A new English-taught master’s programme ‘Linguistic Theory and Language Description’ starts in the new academic year. Ekaterina Rakhilina, Head of the School of Linguistics, told us about some details of the programme, project work and the potential for international cooperation.

Marina Chashko, HSE student on Master’s Programme in Foreign Languages and Cross-cultural  Communication, has participated in the first University Model United Nations in Venice as a representative of the New Zealand delegation in the Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee. Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation MA programme at theInstitute for Statistical Studies and the Economics of Knowledge is open to anyone interested in learning how to commercialize scientific developments. First and second year students talk about their reasons for choosing the programme and their studies.

In 2016, the Strategic Corporate Finance (SCF) programme is celebrating its 10^th anniversary and is becoming fully English-taught. Anastasia Stepanova, a graduate of the programme and its current academic director, told us about the unique features of studying in the programme.

The Master’s programme in Big Data Systems at the Higher School of Economics focuses on the value aspect of big data for large enterprises and the implementation of big data technology in enterprises. Two current students of the programme share their thoughts about what drew them to HSE to study big data, what they hope to gain from the programme and what advice they would give to prospective international students.

In March 2016, the School of Business Informatics (Faculty of Business and Management) at HSE was visited by a delegation from France’s University of Évry; in late 2015, a student exchange agreement was signed between HSE and this university. The delegation brought 19 students from the Master’s programmes in the field of big data at the University of Évry to Moscow.
