2013--2018 Senior member of Institut Universitaire de France.
The Institut Universitaire de France (IUF) is a French service of the Ministry of Higher Education that distinguishes each year a small number of university professors for their research excellence, as evidenced by their international recognition. A member benefits from a reduction of 2/3 of this statutory education service and has a big research grant.

Over 30 mathematicians from leading universities in Russia and China are presenting on recent advancements in geometry and mathematical physics. The conference is held in a hybrid format.
HSE University and the Beijing Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Applications Sign Cooperation Agreement
HSE University, together with its Chinese partners, will be implementing the scientific project ‘Geometry and Physics,’ which won the ‘Academic Cooperation’ competition at HSE. The International Laboratory for Mirror Symmetry and Automorphic Forms acts on behalf of HSE University. The Beijing Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Applications (BIMSA), represented by a team of renowned mathematicians including Fields medallists, will also be involved in the project.
Blended Learning: Taking Teaching Beyond University
On March 22, the Higher School of Economics hosted a university conference, ‘Blended Learning: Experience, Success and Prospects.’ More than 100 teachers, academics and administrative staff from all HSE campuses met to discuss the strategic and practical issues of integrating a mixed education format into the learning process, as well as the challenges and benefits of combining traditional education with distance and online methods.
Young Stars of Mirror Symmetry Come Together in Moscow
Mirror symmetry is a relatively new field of mathematics which came into being in the 1990s. In 2017, HSE opened the International Laboratory for Mirror Symmetry and Automorphic Forms. The December conference, ‘Mirror Symmetry and Applications’, was a commemoration of its first year of operation.
‘Mirror Symmetry Was Discovered by Physicists, But Very Quickly Got the Attention of Mathematicians…’
The HSE International Laboratory for Mirror Symmetry and Automorphic Forms, which is among several international laboratories to recently open within the Higher School of Economics, was created in December 2016 as part of the Russian government’s mega-grants program. Below, the lab’s academic supervisor, Ludmil Katzarkov, along with deputy heads Valery Gritsenko and Viktor Przyjalkowski, explain why the laboratory is fully capable of becoming a unique multidisciplinary unit dedicated to the study of mirror symmetry, automorphic forms, and number theory.
