Curriculum

The Public Administration bachelor’s programme includes a core and an elective part. The core component of the degree programmeis compulsory for all students in the programme, as set down in university regulations. The elective component of the degree programme consists of courses that are part of different specializations within the curricular programme and/or are on the list of elective courses that students are free to take.

The structure and content of the curriculum of the PA bachelor’s programme reflect the view that public administration is an independent field of knowledge differing from the sphere of management. This field is multidisciplinary, as it includes knowledge from political science, law, management, economics, sociology, information technologies, etc. The basic courses of public administration are contained in the core component of the 1^st and 2^nd years of study. Students choose a specialization during the 3^rd year. During the 4^th year, they take elective courses along with the core courses of their specialization. During the 2^nd and 3^rd years, students take 10 credits of courses from the minor list.

They participate in research seminars and implement projects, where they learn to solve real problems in public sector organizations.
